Puss In Boots

Here she is...

A female version of Puss in Boots... My design concept was to bring to life a character from children's literature and put it to a specific context... My costume design has a winter wonderland feel communicated by the icy grey tones of the fabric.

The context is modern ballet (not on point).

The performer is wearing fitted regal style clothes with elements of creative pattern cutting techniques, yet she still has a great range of movement to run and creep about the stage (she is a sneaky cat).

The costume elements that have been made are; the hat, mask, jacket, breeches, tail, paws, removable collar, removable cuffs, belt, hessian bag and a pair of flat ballet pumps adapted into boots. The collar and cuffs are removable, and all buttons are illusional. Poppers hooks and bars are used to aid quick changes.
